Formerly titled: Responding to DEI Backlash

As the Trump administration continues its assault on DEI principles, programs, and funding, nonprofit and philanthropic leaders face critical risk assessments. Should we consider changes to how we design and communicate our work? Should we stay the course? For organizations rooted in equity, there are considerations in every direction: programming, funding, communications, and internal people and culture practices.

NPQ welcomes a powerful trio of justice-committed practitioners and thought-leaders to explore strategic organizational responses to diversity, equity, and inclusion backlash.

The presenters will address:

  • Assessing your organizational risk levels
  • A continuum of organizational responses to the DEI backlash and their ramifications
  • Opportunities for sharpening approaches to diversity, equity, and inclusion work
  • Actionable guidance for staff and board leadership

This session is ideal for justice-committed nonprofit and philanthropic leaders across program, administration, communications, resource development, and grantmaking, as well as board members and consultants.
